BIO: Growing up, Maddy Meyers always felt like an outcast. She never fit into a mold and had no plans for her future. This feeling stayed with her to college, until she got in the middle of a student, professor scuffle. Something in her body reacted to the danger before her, unleashing a dark unknown ability that saved an innocent life. With her new powers she has found her purpose, learn to control them and help the world under the moniker, Matte Black. But will society accept her as a new crime fighter or will they cast out what they don’t understand?

ABILITIES: Matte Black’s body can secrete a black tar like “goo” that she can control and form into objects and simple weapons. She can also use the substance to absorb impact or damage. Maddy is still learning how to fully control these abilities. During her recent encounter with The Silhouette, Matte Black was able to heal the specter’s mystical wounds. In addition to that, her powers were able to absorb the bullets from The Silhouette’s guns.
